MUSTARDELS MEDIA AND EXPOZE NIGERIA HOST A SUCCESSFUL 2018 EDITION OF LAGOS DIGITAL SUMMIT
The much anticipated 2018 Lagos Digital Summit held on Friday, 23rd November 2018 at The Zone Tech Park, Plot 9, Gbagada Industrial Scheme, Gbagada, Lagos State. The well-attended event saw techies, digital practitioners, new media enthusiasts and industry experts converged to discuss “Digital and the Future of Business”.
Convener of the Lagos Digital Summit and Managing Partner of Mustardels Media, Adewale Adetona gave the opening speech where he welcomed all the distinguished guests who made it to the event. He underscored the importance of the Summit to those in the digital and tech space while also thanking the numerous partners for their support.
The Summit Host, Osi Suave – Radio/TV Personality took over the podium to also welcome attendees to the event. His address was followed by that of the Business Development Executive, The Zone Tech Park, who gave some insights about the venue and what they do to incubate tech start-ups.
Governance guru, Dr. Joe Abah gave the Keynote Address – “Emerging Business: How to Compete in a Digital Economy”. He talked about what DAI, an organization he works with as the Country Director does in the space which amongst other things is exploring how digital can be used to help clients scale up. He also mentioned that Nigerian tech start-ups raised over $114m in year 2017 alone. He concluded that “the rise of digital tools, platforms and approaches is levelling the playing field for new entrants such as start-ups and SMEs”.
Thereafter the first Panel Session anchored by Isabella Akinseye. The panellists included Femi Bakare – Founder of Kraks TV, Frank Donga – Actor/Comedian, Woli Arole – Actor Comedian, Fisayo Fosudo – Tech Blogger/Youtuber. The conversation centred on how content creators could profit from their craft.
There was brief music interlude after which the next session commenced. The Second Panel Session anchored by Tosin Ajibade – Writer and Founder of Olorisupergal, Terver Bendega – Brand Manager Taxify, Tomiwa Ogunmodede Creative Design & Digital Marketing FarmCrowdy, Modupe Ogunyemi – Head of Marketing Bounce News were the panellists. The conversation was hinged on Challenges & Experiences of Digital Business Managers.
“Digital Marketing Bold Predictions for 2019” was the topic of the third and final Panel Session anchored by Lanre Basamta, Head of Marketing Sidmach Technologies, Felicia Otolorin – Lead Publisher Relations Google Africa, Chibuike Goodnews- CEO of Dochase programmatic, Oye Akideinde – Regional Director Transnet Music, Marie Chidi – Business Development Manager Lagos Digital Academy were the panellists.
The teeming audience had the opportunity to engage the panelists on various interest topics which were well attended to.
The Vote of Thanks was taken by Demola Adetona, Founder of Expoze Nigeria and co-convener of the Summit, who profusely appreciated the audience for their time and the team for their hardwork which resulted in an epoch-making event.
